Day One

Welcome Gathering

We begin our stay in Chios with a gentle evening of local meze and wine, sharing stories as the sun sets over the Aegean.

The Celebration Gathering

We are so happy to welcome you to Chios. To celebrate Ion’s baptism, we have planned a few days of tradition and lighthearted togetherness across the island’s most beautiful corners.

Arriving by Air

Most guests fly into Athens (ATH) followed by a 45-minute domestic flight to Chios (JKH). Aegean, Olympic, and Sky Express operate multiple daily connections year-round.

Whether you choose a swift flight over the Aegean or a scenic ferry journey, we look forward to welcoming you to our island home.

Getting to Chios

The Scenic Route: Ferries

For a traditional Aegean arrival, take the ferry from Piraeus Port in Athens. Hellenic Seaways and Blue Star Ferries offer comfortable crossings directly to Chios town.

Where to Stay

We have carefully selected a few locations in Chios that offer both comfort and proximity to the baptism ceremony. Whether you prefer the charm of the town or the tranquility of the coast, we want you to feel at home.

Questions?

When should we plan to arrive in Chios?

We suggest arriving at least one day before the opening celebration on Friday to settle in. Chios is meant to be explored slowly; a few extra days will allow you to embrace the island's rhythm before our main ceremonies begin.

What is the dress code for the weekend?

For Ion’s baptism, we recommend refined summer attire—light fabrics like linen and silk are best for the Greek August heat. Please note that church courtyards and medieval village paths are traditional stone; comfortable soles are encouraged.

How do I get around on the island?
Understanding the Orthodox Ceremony

The service is deeply symbolic, featuring the three-fold immersion and the blessing of the oil. It is customary for guests to follow the flow of the ritual; please feel welcome to be seated when needed, especially given the summer temperature.
