Driving in Chios

We highly suggest booking a rental car in advance, especially for those staying outside Chios Town. Most major agencies are located by the airport and port. Note that many cars are manual; be sure to specify if you require an automatic.

Taxis are reliable and plentiful in the town. We will share a list of trusted local drivers for your convenience. Radio taxis can be booked via phone or specialized apps, though we recommend pre-booking for late-night returns.

The island roads are generally well-paved but can be winding and narrow in the mountain villages. We recommend driving carefully and enjoying the views. Parking in the town is easier on the outskirts near the port.
